Each and every file within a virtual machine can be extracted, which include system files, user files, and everything else. This can be very useful, if you have something really important on your virtual disk, and need to use it urgently, just in case there isn’t any virtual machine available for it, or you have some troubles. However, if the virtual machine is corrupt for any reason, or you just have the virtual disk image, without the virtual machine to handle it properly, you can even see and extract the contents of the virtual machine. As long as the virtual machine is working perfectly, and isn’t corrupt in any way, you can make changes, or see the contents of the virtual disk image within the virtual machine. The virtual disk image is typically stored in the same folder, where your virtual machine is located unless you manually change the location of the virtual disk storage or do some changes. the common person is best off just sticking with the defaults in Mint already and if you can't extract certain rar files, simply issue the command I mentioned above.Most users already know about virtual machines, and each time a virtual machine is created, a virtual disk is also created subsequently to store the files or to save the changes made in the virtual machine. ![]() but you will have to learn some command line stuff. extract it to it's own folder, call it "7z2201" for example, right click that folder and select 'Open in Terminal' then type "./7zz *commands here* etc). you can use the latest 7-zip versions from terminal though if you absolutely want to like (get the "64-bit Linux x86-64" download, currently "7z2201-linux-圆4.tar.xz") for example (example. ![]() just double click it like usual and the rest should be easy enough to figure out.īut for extracting rar files, if you have issues with extracting, do 'sudo apt install unrar' and now it will work as expected. like right click a file or folder, select "Create Archive." and the rest should be pretty straight forward. 7z files and creating them installed by default.
